How to get involved….

We welcome new members of all ages, 18 years and over.

You can get involved as an actor, as a director, or as part of the back-stage production crew, concerned with lighting, sound, costume, props, designing, building and painting sets and so on….

You can also be a member of the SSA and be primarily a supporter, attending main house and in-house productions and social events, rather than being actively involved in productions.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming company, working together to create the best work we can. We take the quality of our work very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously at all!

This is a great way to meet people and have fun.

If you want to give it a try, we usually suggest you come to one or two SSA events first (e.g. an ‘expo’ to introduce a new production, an audition, rehearsal or a social event), to see how we roll.

If you’d like to become a member, then we ask you to pay a very modest membership fee.

For most people this will be a minimum of just £3 per calendar month, or a single payment of £36 for the year.

If you are a student or unwaged this can be £2 per calendar month or a single payment of £24 for the year.

A Standing Order is our preferred method of payment as it makes accounting so much easier, but our current Treasurer, David, can relieve you of your money in other ways if necessary!  We’ll forward you our bank details to make it even easier…

As an SSA member you can audition and perform or work backstage on any of our productions over the year. You will get details of all our productions and other events via this web site, or by email, or on our Facebook member group https://www.facebook.com/groups/271554129878036
