filled with graphic realism and wild comedy, the stage adaptation of irvine welsh's phenomenally sucessful novel skims in and out of blighted lives spinning raw tales of everyday addiction: two dossers are called up for an interview that they don't want, a junkie wakes up in a bed he doesn't recognise, a pregnant woman gets on the wrong end of her heavy-drinking, thug of a boyfriend

featuring liam fleming, tom halliday, lana harper and stuart williams this is the voice of punk grown up

trainspotting includes very strong language, scenes of a sexual nature, drug abuse and violence

directed by joe wright

 November 19th - 22nd

Elsinore is not what it seems. On the surface the sorrow for the death of the late king has turned to joy at the coronation of his brother, securing the happy state of Denmark. All appears well - but is anyone or anything what they claim? Does anyone mean what they say? Who can you trust? Is Denmark really a home for paranoia, spying and control?Hamlet is torn between the desire to avenge his father's death and his reluctance to shed blood - 'I do not know why yet I live to say "This things to do"'

In November 2008 the SSA will be performing one of Shakespeare's greatest plays, a play so capable of reinvention that it has come to stand not just for one man but for the human condition throughout the centuries.

Directed for the third time by Neil Gregory-Reader, Hamlet is the play every actor measures themselves against.
